Lancefield Grouping C, G, F
These groups cause similar types of acute infections like S. pyogenes and S. agalactiae, but usually involve compromised patients. A significant number of infections are caused by Group G Streptococci, and occur in patients with underlying malignancies. Group C organisms occasionally have been associated with acute pharyngitis.
